Where to Find Condoms

There are nine types of places listed. A brief description of each is below:

Medical provider: Some doctors offices or clinics may have condoms available for free. This is more likely to be the case if they specialize in teens or LGBT individuals. Open during the day, but you may need an appointment.

Gay festival: LGBT events, like Pride festivals, often hand out free condoms and sometimes lube. However, these events may not be near you or frequent enough for your needs.

Friend or older sibling: A trusted older individual can get condoms for you or help you get them, if you ask.

18+ bar/club: Gay bars and clubs sometimes have free condoms avaialble, but you may need to ask an employee for them. Regardless, you have to be old enough to get in the door.

Testing location: Many non-profit organizations that provide free testing will also hand out condoms. Use the Testing Locator to find these places near you. Hours may vary.

Store: Some bigger chain stores will sell condoms, but you may have to ask an employee to get them for you.

Internet: You can order condoms from a number of online retailers, but you’ll have to factor in shipping time. You’ll also need some place to send them and probably a credit card to purchase.

Pharmacy: You can purchase condoms at a pharmacy, but you may have to ask an employee to get them for you. Some pharmacies may also have HIV testing on site.

School or student center: Some school clinics or nurses offices will have condoms available. This varies greatly by school district, so check beforehand to see if yours has them.
