Condom Discontinuation

As you can see, there are a lot of steps to take before you and your partner are ready to discuss not using condoms in your relationship! Before you stop using condoms, you should:

1. Talk about why both of you want to stop using condoms and about being exclusive in your relationship.

2. Get tested for HIV (at least twice) and STIs together, or share your results with each other.

3. Make a rule that you will tell each other if you have sex outside of your relationship.

Remember, condoms are a great way to protect your HEALTH needs while still satisfying your PHYSICAL and EMOTIONAL needs. It’s okay to keep using them for as long as you want, even after a year. Getting on PrEP provides extra protection for your HEALTH needs.
